Dr. Benjamin Boswell

Benjamin Boswell’s journey into dentistry began far from the Midwest, in the rugged landscapes of Alaska, where he was born and raised. His unique background combines an artistic foundation in music with a curiosity for science, ultimately leading him to discover a profession that allows him to blend creativity, precision, and compassion: dentistry.

Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks before moving to Indiana to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he is set to graduate in 2025.

Throughout his training, he has gained extensive hands-on experience, including rotations in federally qualified health centers, private practices, and hospital dentistry. He has treated a wide range of patients—from children receiving their first dental screenings to medically compromised individuals undergoing care in the operating room.

One of his most rewarding cases involved planning and restoring a complex prosthodontic implant and crown treatment, highlighting his dedication to both technical excellence and patient-centered outcomes.

Service and leadership have also been central to Ben’s path. As president of the Christian Dental Association at IUSD, he organized community events and fostered dialogue around the role of benevolence in healthcare. His heart for outreach has taken him from local initiatives, such as Give Kids a Smile and SEAL Indiana, to national and global service efforts, including trips to the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota and volunteer clinics in Alaska.

These experiences deepened his commitment to improving access to oral healthcare for underserved populations.

Beyond dentistry, Ben enjoys music, traveling, and exploring the outdoors—a connection to his Alaskan roots that continues to ground him. He values time with friends, family, and his faith community, which provide balance and encouragement along his professional journey.
