Sedation Dentistry & IV Sedation
True IV sedation, in-house. Comfort options from gentle local anesthesia to full IV sedation, so fear never keeps you from the care you need.
The
work.
Most general dental offices refer IV sedation out. We keep it in-house: Dr. Mat Middleton provides IV sedation (general anesthesia), a medically monitored, deeply relaxed sleep for extensive treatment or significant dental anxiety. It is reserved for appropriate, carefully selected cases, with close monitoring throughout and a driver required afterward.
Not every visit needs that. Most treatment is comfortable with gentle local anesthesia and thorough numbness checks. For milder anxiety we offer nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) at both offices, and oral sedation for patients who want deeper relaxation. We also treat anxious patients with no medication at all, by pacing the visit, letting you control the rhythm, and being honest about what you will feel.
A good fit if…
- Patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear
- Extensive treatment or oral surgery you would rather sleep through
- Complex or long appointments
- A strong gag reflex that prevents comfortable treatment
